WS pp 19-22 and how it pertained to our writing assignment:

After reading over the pages and keeping in mind our paper it helped me understand the structure of how our essay should be formed. It broke it down and gave a good outline of the way the paper should be structured. It also gave you ideas on how to get your ideas across. For example using "Main Points" to get your idea out there and then using "Subpoints" as a way to provide details and support to the big picture. Another thing it provided was when stating something back it up with a reason. When writing a compare and contrast essay you need to back up the information you are saying. If you make a statement you should either have a fact or an example to prove that point. That is a key component of writing this type of essay. You must be able to back up what you are saying to prove to the reader that you have a understanding of what you are talking about. Lastly it is important that your paper hooks to the reader and transitions smoothly. With that being said you don't want random facts or an abrupt ending to a paragraph. After reading this section it helped me understand how my paper should be structured and how to include my examples and make my essay flow better.
